Igt 5Cento

This IGT Toscana Rosso was born in the heart of this wonderful region, a land dedicated to the production of high quality wines. A land that has seen the production of wine as an integral part of its landscape and its economy until the Times of the Middle Ages.

The vineyards that originate this wine are bred on medium-mixed soils with the presence of Sands and skeleton such as to give aromatic profiles of extreme elegance and complexity.

The 5cento wine is made from Sangiovese grapes accompanied by other typical Tuscan grape varieties such as Canaiolo, Colorino and Malvasia Nera.

The grapes are all harvested manually when it reaches maturity, which occurs usually between the third and fourth week of September; then they are destemmed and pressed softly to be accompanied in stainless steel tanks to conduct the fermentation.

The fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature of 26-28 C° with the use of selected yeasts; the maceration on the skins lasts about 7 days. At the end of the film maceration and alcoholic fermentation the wine remains at a controlled temperature until the completion of the malolactic fermentation. From this moment on, the aging phase begins in the steel tanks at controlled temperature, from 6 to 8 months, until the moment of bottling. During this period the wine remains in contact with its fine Lees, holding them in suspension, so that the product acquires body, softness, and complexity.

Deep red with violet reflections

The nose is fruity, with hints of BlackBerry and berries, with light spicy notes that harmonize the profile.

In the mouth the wine is fresh, sapid, easy to drink and inviting. Tannins are soft and silky, well balanced with the acid component of wine. The finish is sweet and sweet with hints of spices and light notes of vanilla.

It goes well with fresh and medium-aged cheeses, vegetable soups and red and white meats in general. If served slightly colder, also great as an aperitif.
